Say goodbye to hangovers this holiday season.

Green juices have been popular for a decade, but there’s a new one, and it’s just in time for the holiday parties. Saying no to alcohol during the holiday season is almost impossible. Obviously, we aren’t encouraging you to drink excessively, but in case you earn a hangover, there’s a scientifically-proven juice to help. Yes, even the scientists know that the holiday season will make us do silly things, which includes having one too many.

Ingredients

65% pear

25% sweet lime

10% coconut water

This green juice is likely to help the body cleanse itself of alcohol faster than any other food. The researchers from the Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai analyzed the effects of dozens of fruits, veggies, pulses, spices, and dairy products on two enzymes that break down alcohol. This is the golden ratio which will help ‘morning after the night before’ feeling.

Study leader Prof Rekha S. Singhal said that a “hangover poses a considerable threat at the individual level. A beverage made from a blend of sweet lime, pear, and coconut water could be used to overcome a hangover.”

The same team of scientists warned people not to drink coffee the morning after because it slows down the breakdown of alcohol. Instead, put pears, sweet lime, and coconut water in a blender, add cheese, cucumber, and tomatoes to your morning and you are more likely to go back to normal in no time.

As stated, moderation is the key. Forget Dry January, and start monitoring your alcohol intake now. According to another group of scientists and psychologists, Dry January and Sober October promote binge drinking. But it doesn’t end there. People who break the non-drinking cycle during this period will likely drink even more, due to feelings of guilt.

‘Tis the season to be jolly, but just in case you do something silly, mix peers, coconut water and sweet lime. It may save the day.
