If you’re getting to that point in your life when it’s time to retire, college towns may be your best place. We understand that you may have your reservations when it comes to the college culture, but here are the reasons why college campuses are perfect for retirees.
Your retirement fund will most likely last longer:
Obviously, this depends on where you’re moving from and to. If you’re moving from rural Idaho to the college town of Malibu, California saving money will probably not be happening.
But if you move from NYC to Bloomington, Indiana or from the Bay Area to Madison, Wisconsin you’ll be saving yourself tons of financial woes.

If you’re a fan of college sports, then hello?! Look no further than a college town to give you the content you love. Whether a Division I or Division III, there will be a sporting event for you to enjoy.
If sports really aren’t your thing, then try catching one of the many performance art shows that college departments put on every semester.
You’ll be surrounded by youthful energy:
It’s invigorating to be surrounded by the energy of people just starting out in life — in a college town you’ll be witness to many young people exploring their newfound freedom for the first time. Even at your older age, being surrounded by that excitement and joy that occurs during the youth will no doubt be refreshing.
