Here’s how to wear Classic Blue and look like a style Queen.

Pantone’s color for 2020 is Classic Blue, and some even call the anti-anxiety blue. It’s a cool and calming shade, and it looks great on any skin tone and hair color. However, the trick to pulling off this color is adapting your style to make it more majestic. Since this is a color associated with royals, Her Majesty The Queen and HRH Duchess of Cambridge are going to be our fashion icons.

After several seasons of brownish, earthy tones, it is refreshing to see some real, attractive, and modern color in our everyday outfits. The deep blue shade will look great with the same brownish shades, as well as with other, brighter colors.

One of the best color combinations is Classic Blue plus Valentino Red. This color block sensation is an homage to the 80s, and for a full-on vintage effect, pick white shoes and a white bag. However, if you want to be fully in the 2020s, wear Classic Blue with Neon Mint. This color combination is bold, yet surprisingly calm, since the water inspires both shades.

With various, feminine shades of pink, this blue will look even warmer, while bright yellow and orange hues are going to be the perfect fit for summer days and nights. But for the ultimate work inspiration, look no further than Kate Middleton’s closet. The Duchess of Cambridge was always a fan of the classic color palette, just like Queen Elizabeth II. Royals ladies are often our inspiration for more formal events, and it’s safe to suggest that this will be the year of Kate.

Pantone made a wise decision to go back to the classic hue of a primary color. It’s easy to use it in your wardrobe, as well as in your home decor. There are several hidden messages in this choice, and one is to go back to simpler times. The other one is not to turn our back on nature.

If you feel like shopping for the new pieces, check out Emilia Wickstead’s namesake Kate dress. It’s easy to wear from the office to the party and doesn’t require too many accessories. And if the price is too high, wait for highstreet versions or invest your time in some serious DIY work. It will pay off, and not just in terms of what to wear. Sewing and knitting are amazing and powerful ways to be more present and release stress.
