High Class Fast Food

‘Tis the season for travel.

In the cool Fall and Winter months, it seems that we travel just as much, if not more, than we do in the Summer months. Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, people will be traveling all over the place.

Unfortunately, this also means that people will be eating more and more fast food over traditional foods. People in airports and train stations will be forced to choose whatever microwaved and “on the go” staples are available from either the vending machine or some overpriced stand. But if you happen to find yourself in Paris, you might just snag a chef quality meal on the go.

Chefs de Gare is a pop up food stand located in Paris that happens to cater to travelers and other people on the go. But this isn’t just any food stand. Chefs de Gare features five Michelin Star-winning chefs who came together to cook quality food for everyone. The goal behind it was to give the opportunity to have some of their signature dishes to people who would otherwise not get to or not have the means to try such dishes. The portable kitchens allowed the chefs to cook amazing dishes in a very unconventional place. The dishes included everything from a full buffet to hors d’oeuvres for surprised train riders.

When asked why they do it, one chef stated “For me, it matters most to meet your audience, and the audience for cuisine is everywhere, in train stations, in our restaurants, in our homes, in our bistros, in bars, and even in bakeries.”

The Chefs de Gare featured over 20 award winning chefs in over 39 train stations throughout Paris. If you missed it this year, you can check it out next year at a train station in Paris.
