Halloween is one of the most festive times of year. From the spooky decorations to the creative costumes to the chill in the air, the scariest month of the year tends to be a fun-filled time for families where they can participate in activities like corn mazes, haunted houses, carving pumpkins, and eating copious amounts of candy.
But one of our all-time favorite family friendly activities comes in the form of scary movies, perfect for any night that’s complete with a full moon. If you have small kids, though, it can be tough to find movies that aren’t too scary, and that adults and children alike will enjoy.
Some of the best kid-friendly Halloween movies are ones you probably forgot about but grew up on. Movies like Practical Magic, Hocus Pocus, The Addams Family, It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and maybe The Rocky Horror Picture Show if you’re feeling adventurous, all share the fun of Halloween, complete with the creepy and the crawly, while not being far too scary for younger eyes. And while these are just a few favorites, there are probably more kid-friendly spooky movies you can remember if you put your mind to it!
