Conversation is an important element of a budding relationship.

You meet someone and fall in love. You are instantly thinking that they may be the one. But there are a few salient questions that you should ask before you pop the question and take the next step in your relationship.

What type of peanut butter to buy, which side of the bed do you sleep on, and even where to live are all questions that you deal with when you are fresh into a relationship. While you don’t have to agree on everything, there are a few hard line issues that you and the “love of your life” need to agree on before you say I do.

One of the first and biggest issues is that of monogamy. You and your partner should agree on whether or not you relationship will be open or traditional. This could bring further problems down the line if this issue isn’t clear and defined for both parties.

Another big hot button issue is children. While not having kids or waiting to have kids is becoming more common these days, you should make sure that you and your partner are on the same wavelength. While you may think that this isn’t a big issue, it’s something that can wear on you and cause future resentment of your partner and relationship.
