The on-off couple might be on-again, Ross and Rachel style.
Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are back together. Well, at least that’s what fans concluded after Gigi posted an Instagram story on which she was cooking with Zayn Malik’s mom. Naturally, the Internet went wild, and we’re here to remind you how and when the relationship started.
The supermodel met former One Direction singer after he broke off his engagement to Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards. Gigi and Zayn were first spotted holding hands in November 2015.
In January 2016, the couple shared a music video for Malik’s song PILLOWTALK. It’s not like they confirmed or denied anything, so many thought this was just a PR relationship. The next month, the British singer put an end to the speculations, calling the Victoria’s Secret model his girlfriend.
In September 2017, things were looking more serious, since the couple went on holiday with their mothers. However, only months later, in March 2018, Gigi and Zayn confirmed the split. They issued statements, only to get back together the next month. They waited until June to make the relationship Instagram official.
The on-off couple spent summer together, but they rarely gave updates on their relationship. So, people started to wonder. In October, they were looking still very much in love, but next month the break up was in the air. Again.
No one knows what happened between November 2018 and January 2019, but the couple was no longer dating. Apparently, they were both too busy with work and decided to split. Well, at least for a few days, because during the same month, Gigi was spotted leaving Malik’s apartment in New York. And the same thing happened in March.
By April, the supermodel and the singer were off again. They stopped issuing statements because they tend to go back and forth, similarly to Ross and Rachel or Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber.
In August, Gigi started dating Bachelor star, Taylor Cameron. He even went with her to grandmother’s funeral in Denmark. Gigi may have moved on, but Zayn was apparently both sad and angry.
And here we are in the present with Gigi cooking with Malik’s mom. Everything seems to be right with the world. But in the defense of the couple, they are young, still discovering the world and trying to achieve their dreams. It’s a rollercoaster, so we hope this helped keep up with the modern romance between a model and a musician. Iman and David Bowie managed to stay together, but then we have Kate Moss and Pete Doherty, and we have no idea where this story might go.
