The young actress/musician managed to get the best from both parents.
The daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, Zoë Kravitz, is anything but a typical star from famous parents. The Big Little Lies lead got married last summer to Karl Glusman, and after seeing all her wedding looks, it seems like the actress is a modern version of Audrey Hepburn.
Though Zoë Kravitz has a different, eclectic style, influenced heavily by the 70s, her custom wedding dress, created by Alexander Wang, showed us her Audreyesque side. The designer said, “Zoë was very clear on her vision: something pure, elegant, timeless but with depth.” He adds, “She knew the reference she wanted, and that was Audrey Hepburn. But we didn’t want it to feel vintage or too costumey.”
With a micro bow headband and micro seed pearls, Kravitz, the future Catwoman, achieved a perfect balance between modern and classic. The 31-year old actress, musician, and a part-time model is far more than an ideal wedding dress. Her resume is already impressive, but her work goes beyond Hollywood glitz. As an activist, Kravitz is proud to speak of her unconventional upbringing and difficulties she experienced for being a multiracial woman.
Zoe revealed she was “short and brown,” and she “went to a private school in Miami, surrounded by wealthy kids, mostly white.” Despite financial privilege, her racial identification made her feel bad. “I felt like a freak because my hair was different, and children would come up and say, ‘Can I touch your hair?'” The biracial and Jewish girl grew up to be one of the most talented and indeed most beautiful women in the world. She was accused of being part of the nepotism crowd, but Kravitz simply let her work speak.
Despite fame, wealth, and good looks, Zoë seems to be in her element whenever she talks about her parents. “I love the fact that neither of my parents live like celebrities. They’re both very protective of their privacy – especially my mother,” she explained. Her parents split when Zoe was a toddler, but it didn’t stop a legendary rocker and gorgeous actress from raising their only child in a loving and warm environment. Lenny Kravitz often hangs out with Jason Momoa, who’s is Zoë’s stepfather. That’s apparently why Zoë doesn’t look for the public approval for her every move.
The honesty and modesty, natural elegance, and beauty, as well as talent and unmistakable and unquestionable love for her family, is the real reason why Zoë Kravitz is the Audrey Hepburn of modern times. The wedding dress just confirmed that!
