The Tea: Round Up

You can spend months, or even years working with someone, but if you don’t engage in an actual conversation once in a while, you may find that you don’t know them as well as you think. It’s for this reason that awkward internet talk shows were invented! Y’know, to force people to get to know each other.

Allen Leech, Laura Carmichael, and Michelle Dockery from Downton Abbey participated in Marie Claire’s ‘How Well Do You Know Your Co-Star?’ A bit on-the-nose as far as show titles go, but it’s an apt descriptor. Each participant has a stack of multiple-choice questions regarding random details of their lives and personalities. One participant asks a question, and the other two have to either remember the right answer or, failing that, make an educated guess based on how well they know their co-stars.

While not every question is answered with laser-precision (I don’t even know most of my favorite actors’ first appearances, so expecting anyone else to is a little silly), Leech, Carmichael and Dockery are actually quite knowledgeable about each other. Or, at the very least, they know each others’ personalities well enough that they can ballpark random details. Perhaps being an actor affords you more time to chew the fat with your associates, if you’ll pardon my ancient turn of phrase. Though, it definitely helps that these three seem to genuinely enjoy each others’ presence, laughing and smiling the whole time. I’ve heard stories about actors who hate each other, and they probably couldn’t tell you much about their nemesis. Or maybe they could, depending on how deep that hatred goes.
