Wonton Soup

Ingredients
  

For the dough
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 quarter cup warm water
For the filling
  • 250 grams ground pork or chicken
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 half teaspoon salt
  • 1 half teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup chilled meat stock set into jelly

Method
 

  1. Mix the flour and warm water to form a soft dough, then cover and rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Combine the ground meat, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, salt, and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Gently fold the stock jelly into the filling.
  4. Roll the dough into thin wrappers and place a small amount of filling in the center of each.
  5. Pleat and seal the dumplings carefully.
  6. Line a steamer with parchment or cabbage leaves.
  7. Steam the dumplings for 8 to 10 minutes until cooked through.
  8. Serve hot.
