1. Kaikoura, New Zealand
After facing extensive damage from an earthquake in 2016, Kaikoura is making a grand comeback. Airbnb reports a 295 percent increase in bookings over the last two years. The coastal town is also rich is history, and draw particular interest from those interested in seeing the impressive sperm whale population.
2. Xiamen, China
Xiamen is described as a romantic city on the coastline, surrounded by islands. One of the close islands, Gulangyu is now a quaint, car-free island with beautiful beaches.
They also host tourists annually for the festival celebrating cherry blossom season.
3. Puebla, Mexico
Puebla is a scenic two-hour drive from Mexico City, and offers the culture-rich experience of a Mexican vacation, without the chaos of the city. Puebla is filled with colonial art and architecture, as well as a vibrant culinary scene.
4. Normandy, France
With 2019 being the 75-year anniversary of the D-Day landings, it’s no surprise that this is going to be a popular destination for history buffs, as well as descendants of the brave WWII soldiers. Airbnb has seen a 229 percent increase in interest in Normandy, which is only a two-hour train ride from romantic Paris.

This is the home of America’s most visited national park. The Great Smoky Mountains are in a central location between Tennessee and North Carolina, attracting visitors from all over the country. Two of the mountains’ most iconic trails are opening this year after being shut down from wildfires two years ago.
