A capsule collection for Valentine’s Day designed by Savage x Fenty featuring Adam Selman.

While we are not so patiently waiting for R9, the new album by Rihanna, she presented a new capsule collection of Savage x Fenty lingerie. This time, her guest designer is Adam Selman, the same person responsible for Riri’s naked dress back in 2014. That sheer dress is probably one of the most exciting moments in fashion from the 2010s, and indeed the only moment we remember from CFDA awards that year.

Six years after Selman and Rihanna created the nude dress covered in Swarovski crystals, they are making the most out of the 80s fashion. The new collection has two parts:  Locket Down and Down the Aisle.  The pieces from this mini collection are very sexy, provocative, daring, and not expensive! The prices go from $16 to $84, which is cheap, considering Rihanna’s popularity and the quality of the items.

Wireless bras, tiny panties, bows, and gloves come in red, black, and lavender, with a touch of dominatrix theme. Down The Aisle is a celebration of the ’80s, with exaggerated sleeves, high-cut silhouettes, and oversize satin bows sprinkled through. Locket Down takes the role of seduction with everything from rose-gold floggers and chokers to rose-shaped pasties and vinyl zip-up bras.

Naturally, Rihanna is the leading lady of the campaign. Joan Smalls, Paloma Elsesser, Adesuwa, and Fiffany joined her and  Riri’s go-to photographer, Dennis Leupold. Diversity and body positivity are keys to the brand’s success, so the pieces come in sizes 32A – 42DD and XS – 3X.

Savage x Fenty is currently ruling the world. Rihanna and her crew turned NYFW into a one-woman show, and the singer/designer/fashion icon even brought down the Victoria’s Secret empire. Well, there were other factors involved as well, but Rihanna recognized just how much we need to diversify in the fashion world. She turned the runway into a celebration of all women. If Victoria’s Secret was selling a fantasy, Savage x Fenty is selling a real-life fairytale.
