Perfect little bites inspired by the European kitchen.

The Mediterranean kitchen is not just popular; it’s healthy and surprisingly tasty. Create the perfect party appetizers inspired by the Greek and Italian foods, with some help from their favorites: cheese, olives, and traditional spices.

Ingredients (for six people):
One ciabatta bread with onions or olives
One can of tuna in olive oil – 200g
15 green olives (pitted)
15 black olives (pitted)
One green pepper
Ten mini tomatoes
One teaspoon of chopped basil
One teaspoon of capers
One teaspoon of chopped parsley
A pinch of oregano, black pepper

Step 1
Slice the bread and fry the thin slices on a grill pan until they are light brown (like toasted bread). Put the parchment paper on a shallow baking sheet and arrange bread loaves.

Step 2

Peel the green pepper, and chop it into small cubes, cut tomatoes in half, and peel olives as needed.

Step 3
In a chopper, put a whole can of tuna together with olive oil. Add tomatoes, green pepper, olives, basil, capers, parsley, oregano, and black pepper and mix until you make a fine, chopped mixture. Don’t overdo it; we aren’t trying to make a cream. Put this mixture on toasted bread rolls and put it in the oven at 180 ° C for 10-15 minutes. When it’s done, sprinkle with parmesan. After 10-15 minutes, put the slices on a plate and serve!

Additional

Any other bread can be used instead of ciabatta bread. Ideally, you could make ciabatta, but it’s time-consuming, and store-bought can be just as good.

Instead of a mini tomato, you can use regular ones.

Instead of fresh spices, use store-bought, leaving them submerged in tuna and olive oil for 10 – 15 minutes.
