Rihanna Continues To Take Over The World.

Months after launching Fenty, Rihanna got one of the most prestigious awards in fashion. 2019 British Fashion Awards gathered some of the biggest industry names, and one of the brightest was 31-year-old superstar, in mint green Fenty mini. From Riri’s braids to her jewelry and naturally, makeup, she looked like a boss babe.

Among the best-dressed women are also Julia Roberts and Cate Blanchet. Pretty Woman gave us serious holiday outfit goals in a sequined jumpsuit and oversized blue earrings. The Oscar-winning Aussie, Blanchet, looked like a proper princess in ethereal tulle Armani Privé dress with a ruffled, plunging neckline.

Other high-profile attendees at the 2019 British Fashion Awards included Vogue editors from all over the world, Donatella Versace, Big Little Lies, and Shailene Woodley in a giant puffer jacket-dress. At least she wasn’t cold, though the look was not flattering. But fashion is about taking risks, and the actress made sure to stand out.

Emilia Clarke brought some sunshine into the gloomy London night with a bright yellow cape dress. Sandra Oh is another star who gave us Christmas vibes in her sequined and lace dress. Lily James, Alexa Chung, Naomi Campbell, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and other famous and beloved faces made sure to make Royal Albert Hall gets another unforgettable fashion night. Janet Jackson and Tom Cruise didn’t walk the red carpet, but they were more than happy to be photographed inside the event.

The star-studded evening wasn’t all about the ladies and their fashion choices. Lewis Hamilton cut a stylish look in a silver blazer, while Liam Payne went for a more classic look, in dark blue shades.

Daniel Lee of Bottega Veneta, was undoubtedly the star designer of the night, winning in four significant categories. Former CNN Style guest editor Adut Akech took the title of Model of the Year, and here’s what the South Sudanese-Australian model said: “This award is bigger than me; it’s bigger than a title in the industry. It’s for every young girl or boy refugees around the world in a tough position who are unheard or unseen.”

Sarah Burton, beloved by Kate Middleton, aka Duchess of Cambridge, won Trailblazer Award. Legendary Italian designer Giorgio Armani was honored with the Outstanding Achievement award.

One of the most significant losses in modern fashion history happened this year, and Anna Wintour and Amanda Harlech used the ceremony to honor the late Karl Lagerfeld. “No designer had more esoteric references,” Wintour said of a man renowned for incorporating everything from literature and architecture to technology and pop culture into his collections. “He was a renaissance man.”

Despite freezing temperatures and current events in the UK, this was a glorious night, full of significant wins. It was entirely in sync with holidays as well as the upcoming award season.
