Exercise and bonding; it’s the best of both worlds.

Between work, parenting, and just life in general, it’s easy to be emotionally drained during your day to day activities. The effects can be amplified with the birth of a new baby or just for new parents in general.

Having a baby can change everything. But you don’t have to lose your identity or give so much to the new baby that you forget about yourself. Enter Baby Yoga. Baby Yoga is just what it sounds like- doing yoga with your baby. In a world with goat yoga and zoo yoga, baby yoga is just one of the newest trends to hit the workout scene.

Baby yoga is set up very similar to a traditional yoga class. The class starts by creating a bond between baby and parent. Next the class goes into back poses followed by some poses on their stomachs. Afterwards, the baby and parent focus on off the ground poses. To end the session, the parents get five minutes to just lay down and relax. The instructor provides whatever assistance is needed to ensure that the parent gets a full five minutes to just unwind.

Doing activities with your babies has been shown to help boost that connection between you and your baby. But there are other added bonuses for doing yoga with your baby. It can help babies stretch their muscles and can even activate and stimulate their brains as well.
