Miley Cyrus posted a sad Christmas song on her Instagram, and just hours later, her boyfriend, Cody Simpson was spotted with Playboy model Jordy Murray. No one can confirm or deny anything at this point, but according to the message Cyrus left, things aren’t looking up for this couple.
The relationship between Miley and Cody came out of nowhere, and it seems it went there again. The Wrecking Ball singer announced she was splitting from her husband in August. Then, maybe two days later, she was spotted making out with Kaitlynn Carter. The two were dating for a month.
Cody Simpson and Miley started dating in October. The couple got matching tattoos and spent time together in Nashville as the formerĀ Hannah MontanaĀ star recovered from throat surgery in November. The last time they were in public together was two weeks ago when they visited a homeless shelter.
Both Simpson and Cyrus defended their relationship, stating they were friends for a long time. But, for a woman who just ended not just her marriage, a ten years on-off relationship with Liam Hemsworth, people were worried and amused.
The worst part of the breakdown of this marriage was that Cyrus wasn’t holding back. Or at least, the youngest Hemsworth brother had better PR. Either way, the divorce made Miley look like a teenager, while Liam took time away from the paparazzi, and then started dating. He made people feel happy for him, which in PR terms is a huge victory.
Cody Simpson previously dated Gigi Hadid. The relationship with Miley Cyrus wasn’t something his fans expected, but he did get to be more visible, which is part of the job. The Australian musician is only 22, so it’s not like we thought the wedding bells would be involved. However, when your relationship gets so much exposure on social networks, it’s only reasonable to have people wondering what is going on. But it sure looks like this was not the best year for Cyrus.
