As a society, we have made great strides toward female equality and empowerment, but there is still lots more that can be done.

There have been many new groups and organizations that have talked about female empowerment and have even helped to foster a culture of female empowerment amongst women, but many times, this sentiment is short lived and doesn’t favor well when it is exercised in the real world. Amanda Seales has taken the opportunity to speak out about women empowerment.

Amanda Seales is a celebrated actress, author, musician, and now comedian. She is best known for her roles on the hit HBO show Insecure, and is also one of the two members of the musical group Floetry. She truly has done it all. Who better than Amanda Seales to speak on empowering women and teaching them to be strong and successful. And she’s not new to activism; Amanda Seales has also campaigned against smoking in the Truth campaign and even stood up against sexual assault.

It shouldn’t be a shock that women are underappreciated and under represented in today’s society. It’s more important than ever to speak out and make noise about such a disservice. Amanda Seales stated during a recent interview, “Anytime that I am given the opportunity to speak on behalf of women or to speak on behalf for the advancement of black women’s voices, I am going to do it and do it unabashedly. And I aspire to inspire others to do so.”

In her new book, “Small Doses”, Amanda Seales talks about the importance of “having a hoe phase” and being open and embracing your sexuality in a day where society tends to be more and more prude.
